Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability. 

GP Health Records

GP Health records contain information about the care an individual had from their GP practice including:

  • Medicine GP’s have prescribed
  • Allergies and medication side effects
  • Immunisations (including childhood vaccines)
  • Diagnosis and conditions the individual has been seen for
  • Notes from appointments at any GP surgery the individual is or has been registered with
  • Results of tests arranged by the above GP surgeries
  • Letters that the hospital, specialist, insurance or others have sent to your GP.

Any individual can request this information or can give access for third parties such as solicitors to request this on their behalf.

When we receive a request for medical records from a third party, we will contact you to obtain consent to release this information in full, unless other wise specified by the requester.

What is not in the GP health record

Information kept by other services ( such as A&E, hospitals, care homes, private clinics, dentists, opticians, health visitors, midwives, and any other separate legal entities that provide medical and social care that has not been sent to the GP – to get this information, any interested party need to contact these services directly and request a copy of the records they hold.
