Clinics & Services
Blood Tests
If the doctor requests a blood test this can be done by making an appointment with the phlebotomist and will be carried out here in the surgery. We also have two drop-in blood clinics on Mondays and Tuesdays which start at 8.05 and finish at 11.00am. No appointment is necessary. Please do not arrive before this time as booking in does not start before this.
Cervical Smears
These are easily available during normal surgeries (please tell us when you book). Our Nursing Team is available to administer this test. Smears should be carried out every 3 or 5 years dependant on age. We also have an early morning smear clinic on Wednesdays between 7.00am and 8.00am.
Child Health
Children see the Doctors as usual for illness advice. Dr Davenport runs a six week baby clinic for mother and baby on a weekly basis.
Health Checks
If you are aged 40 to 74 years and are not already on the chronic disease register, we will provide a health examination. This checks that some of your body's most important systems are running smoothly. You will be invited for a health check over the next few years or you can telephone the surgery to book in.
If you are 75 years or over and do not attend the surgery for a regular review, our Health Care Assistants will check your blood pressure, weight, urine and talk to you about any health issues you may have. Please contact reception if you wish to book
Heart Risk Screening
The Nursing Team performs checks which help us to assess your risk of coronary artery disease and offer preventative advice. Please ask for details.
Immunisations
Protection for the whole family is encouraged. This includes routine childhood scheduled vaccinations and clinics are held twice a week. We also provide routine vaccinations for influenza, shingles and pneumonia as well as taking part in a wide range other government immunisation schemes. Please ask for further details.

Family Planning
All the partners provide contraceptive advice and services. This is usually within the normal surgeries for confidentiality and convenience. “Coil” and implant fittings are carried out by pre-arrangement in our weekly family planning clinics.
Foreign Travel
Advice and immunisation may be necessary if you are travelling outside Northern Europe or North America. Enquire at reception at least nine weeks before you travel.
Maternity Services
All the partners offer full care in pregnancy and childbirth (with consultant referral if appropriate). It is wise to make some checks if you are planning a pregnancy e.g. immunity against Rubella and there may be some dietary and other lifestyle issues to consider. Appointments can be made for pre-pregnancy advice within our normal clinics.
Young Person's Telephone Advice Clinic
On Wednesdays between 12.00 noon and 12.30 pm we run a young person's (13-19 year old) telephone advice line for dedicated advice on any matter that you would like to discuss with someone clinical on a totally confidential basis. Please feel free to contact reception during these times and someone will help you.
Minor Surgery
We run two minor surgery sessions a week which can be booked in to following a consultation with your GP.
Diabetic Clinic
